International Women's Day in Jabiru

23 March 2018

ERA’s Ranger Women’s Network hosted an International Women’s Day dinner at the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel on Thursday, 8 March.
Staff from the mine and women from across Jabiru came along to support fellow women and girls to grow and empower themselves to be the best they can be.
The night included inspirational guest speeches from ERA General Manager Operations Lesley Bryce and Foundation and Director of ART Your Life Catie Kirke, and was also an opportunity to raise funds for local charities through ticket sales, raffles, auctions and donations.
The funds raised on the night will go towards local charity, Dawn House, which provides services to women and children escaping domestic and family violence and to charity Dolly’s Dream which aims to raise awareness of bullying, anxiety, depression, and youth suicide and improve access to youth support and prevention services. Both causes provide positive support for women and youth in Darwin and West Arnhem communities.
ERA’s Ranger Women’s Network was formed last year and in 2018 will once again continue to organise a number of events and fundraising activities around Jabiru.
