Jabiru asks 'R U OK'?

20 September 2017

Through the hard work of a number of community organisations, the ‘R U OK’ Day event in Jabiru was a huge success on Thursday, September 14.
In support of the event, which encourages people to start meaningful conversations between one and another, Public Health, CatholicCare NT, Girls Academy, Jabiru Foodland, Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel and FaFT, came together to put on the event, which featured a barbecue run by Girls Academy and Public Health staff, the Crocodile Hotel’s coffee cart, delicious food options from Foodland and more.
The event, which was also a fundraiser, was a great day, with a huge turn out from the community.
Organisers wished to thank the community for their support with everything selling out on the day.
They also said the event was a great opportunity to educate and raise awareness of mental health and how everyone can assist by asking ‘R U OK’.
The event was also a good introduction in the lead up to Mental Health Week which will take place from October 8 – 15.
