Kakadu Bird Week 2017

20 September 2017

Kakadu Bird Week 2017 is coming up and there’s so much to be excited about.
Whether you are a professional birder, just starting out, a budding bird artist, or want to join in the birding fun and games for kids, you’ll find something to flap your wings about.
Prepare to be amazed by the guided sunrise bird chorus experience, meet and talk with Kakadu park rangers and Traditional Owners, explore the billabongs on a bird watching cruise, be around to meet and greet birds from the Territory Wildlife Park and their keepers, go bush walking with skilled birding guides, a talk about magpie goose aerial surveys, a cultural activity of traditional bird art, Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) region birding tour (sandstone endemics), a kids bird craft, identifications and giveaways, or meet the award winning Bininj artist Graham Bardari at his ‘Mayhmayh - Different Birds’ book launch.
Every day, you can join in the Kakadu Bird Week fun with a range of activities for the early bird to the night owl. The week is jam-packed with events for the whole family and for bird appreciators at all different levels of experience.
Make sure you are also in the draw to win a variety of exciting prizes, including scenic helicopter flights over Kakadu and family passes to the Territory Wildlife Park. This is a great way to visit Kakadu during the school holidays.
