NAIDOC Week celebrations in Warruwi

01 September 2022

The Warruwi NAIDOC celebrations were held on one very exciting day recently.
The event included a NAIDOC march and there were lots of cultural activities including spear throwing, a digeridoo contest, damper making, traditional and dancing as well as tug of war and egg and spoon races.
Thank you to everyone who has made it possible: Samuel Robinson (School Principal) and his team down at the school, especially Levi (Teacher) who was a huge help today with setting up all the fun activities!
Thank you to Senior Elder and Traditional Owner Jenny Inmulugulu for your support today and also for teaching the children how to bake a damper. Thank you to the Injalarrku group for singing your song lines and giving the children an opportunity to showcase our culture.
Thank you to the West Arnhem Regional Council Wellbeing team and the works crew for supporting each other and making today a success and finally thank you to the National Indigenous Australians Agency
We hope you all enjoyed it and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.
