Youth Bunggul and dance off in Maningrida

In late 2021, Maningrida Traditional Owner’s Joseph Ditto and David Jones suggested that young ones have an opportunity to practice some Bunggul dancing and to participate in a dance off competition to say bo bo to 2021 and to welcome 2022. 
Malala Youth Centre and Malala’s Youth Diversion teams, Nja-marléya Cultural Leaders & Justice Group and West Arnhem Regional Council’s Wellbeing team came together to facilitate a Bunngul workshop for youth followed by a community barbecue and a dance off competition. 
It was so fantastic to see so many members of the community come together and to see our young ones getting involved. Congratulations to all who participated and to those who won some awesome prizes. 
We would like to thank David Jones for his efforts in gathering singermen and dancers to facilitate the workshop and Joseph Ditto for being the MC.
