Community meet and greet in Minjilang

A Minjilang Local Authority meeting was held on July 9 with Mayor Matthew Ryan, Deputy Mayor Anna Egerton, Elected Members and a number of West Arnhem Regional Council staff in attendance.
There was plenty of great discussions and ideas brought up throughout the meeting.
Members supported the creation of a video clip in language, to spread important messaging about COVID-19 and tips to keep the community safe. This exciting project will be produced with the young people in the community.
Members agreed to support a ‘board of recognition’ to highlight the contributions of prior Elected Members. 
This board will be made after seeking permission from all families to display name.
Following the meeting, Local Authority members, Elected Members and WARC staff mingled with residents during a community meet and greet and barbecue. This was a great opportunity to begin consultation on the 2021-22 Regional Plan.
