A day to celebrate youth in Warruwi

07 September 2020

Warruwi Crèche went on an excursion to Warruwi Primary school to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day (Children’s Day) on August 4. This is a national day dedicated to children around Australia, and to celebrate, the children did painting, dancing and enjoyed a delicious barbecue for lunch.
Warruwi Community celebrated Children’s Day, acknowledging the strengths and culture of our children.
It was an opportunity for us to show our support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and learn about the crucial impact that culture, family, and community play in the life of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child.
The excursion was a great opportunity to establish and maintain ongoing collaborative partnerships with the community and the pre-school.
A huge thank you to Keira Stewart for facilitating this event and our new ongoing partnership.
