Gunbalanya clients celebrate International Women's Day together

11 March 2022

West Arnhem Regional Council’s Community Care team in Gunbalanya held a wonderful morning tea to celebrate International Women’s Day on Tuesday, 8 March.
Team members Jo and Theresa did the bus run to pick up clients, while Katie and TK, our Acting Team Leader, put on an amazing spread of pancakes and whipped cream, bacon and eggs and a fruit platter. There was also juice, tea and coffee for the clients that came along to join in the day.
A big thank you to Alan, another one of our amazing workers, who cleaned the front of the centre ready for clients.
Theresa is the newest team member and she got right in there, making sure our clients had enough to eat and were comfortable and happy. This was Theresa’s second day on the job and she is really fitting in well.
Dawn, one of our wonderful clients, blessed our meal before we all tucked in to share the food together.
We had a couple of our male clients who also helped recognise and celebrate the amazing daluk on our team and our daluk clients. Thank you Don, Manbrog, Cain and Jordon for helping the daluk celebrate the day.
Gunbalanya Wellbeing Coordinator Jo Hack said, “What an amazing morning we had at our Community Care Hub - Gunbalanya. Thank you to our team that were able to make the morning a success.”
