Maningrida community supports International Women's Day
Maningrida held two events for International Women’s Day, thanks to funding received from the Stronger Communities for Children program and a grant from the Office of Gender & Equality (NT Government).
All health staff and Malabam staff wore pink t-shirts for the day, as did staff from the Women’s Centre.
The first was a morning tea at the Mala’la Aged Care where both women and men enjoyed the array of food which was presented.
The women were also presented with a pink t-shirt and a pink bag of goodies which was well received.
The second event was a ‘Ladies Long lunch’ at Dhukurrdji Lodge where over 90 women enjoyed the pink surroundings and lunch and listened to guest speaker Bess Price tell her very interesting story. A great day was held by all.
Thanks to the sponsors, Malabam Health Board and Stronger Communities for Children, the Office of Gender & Equality (NT Government), and also the support given by Mal’la Aged and Community Services, Babbarra Women’s Centre and Dhukurrdji Lodge.
