NDIS Connector Program

08 November 2019

West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC) Community Care have transitioned across to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to continue to support disability clients and families in the West Arnhem region.
WARC staff across the four communities of Kakadu, Gunbalanya, Warruwi and Minjilang, have been trained to be NDIS connectors.
Staff will be working across both Aged Care and Disability programs and when people want help understanding NDIS, the staff will be able to assist as the NDIS Connectors.
Staff can assist by visiting clients and families in community, transport clients to general areas for appointments, encourage and assist people who have an identified need to seek assistance with NDIS, assist with the application forms and liaise with the clinics, NDIS planners and coordinators.
They will also promote NDIS within the community.
West Arnhem Regional Council hopes the communities will welcome the staff in their purple shirts while they are being community connectors.
