Opportunity to represent Minjilang on the Local Authority

26 May 2022

The Minjilang Local Authority is searching for community members who would like to nominate for positions on the Authority. Becoming a member of the Local Authority is a great opportunity for anyone who is above the age of 18 to be a voice for people living in Minjilang.
Local Authority members listen to community members, and make recommendations to Council about matters that are important to the community. These include, but are not limited to the repair of footpaths, the construction of roads and the maintenance of community facilities such as basketball courts and the Maningrida swimming pool.
Becoming a member of the Minjilang Local Authority is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to become a community leader.
Training and support will be provided to all members of West Arnhem Local Authorities. Local Authority members may be eligible for an allowance, which will be paid for every meeting attended.
If you are interested in becoming a leader in your community, and having a say on how decisions about your community are made, then get in touch with Minjilang’s Council Services Manager and fill in the nomination form.
