School holidays include Easter fun and activities

18 April 2019

With only a week to pack in as much fun and activity as they could, the youth of Jabiru began their school holidays by getting their groove on at a youth disco held in the Jim Jim Room of the Crocodile Hotel.

Sunday morning was a bike ride to the pool where a rainbow of pancakes was produced for an enjoyable breakfast treat.

Monday morning, the Jabiru youth got out in the garden to make ‘eatable pots’ filled with seeds and leafy greens that they can watch grow into the dry season.

On Tuesday, the youth piled on the bus for a road trip to South Alligator.

The team saw a number of different fauna friends on the walk out to the Mamukala lookout and with the help of Jabiru’s very own local cultural guide Ruby, they were able to identify the surrounding country.

After a long walk, the group cooled off in the pool before a picnic lunch and some games.

On Wednesday, the youth had their creativity stirring at the library while designing Easter hats for the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday at the Crocodile Hotel. In the afternoon it was over to the hall for chocolate crackles and cupcake decorating.

Thursday morning was a 9am tee off for the Jabiru Junior Ambrose at the golf club.

It was some good fun in the sun that made for a good laugh and prizes. After a game it was back to the clubhouse for a sausage sizzle.

Jabiru Sport and Recreation would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter and a safe holiday.
