Seeking nominations for Maningrida Local Authority

The Maningrida Local Authority is actively seeking nominations from community members to fill one current vacancy on the Board.
Local Authorities, which are established in Minjilang, Warruwi, Gunbalanya and Maningrida, are comprised of community representatives and an elected Chairperson, who advise on specific Council community and social projects that impact on their community or region.
The Local Authorities central function is to support local decision-making. 
Each Board receives an annual allocation of funding to be used towards projects of local importance. 
If you are interested in nominating for the Maningrida Local Authority vacancy, please chat to your local Elected Members or obtain a form from the Council Service Manager Yanja Thompson by visiting the Council Office. 
Local Authority meetings are also a great opportunity for community organisations and external parties such as Government Departments to make presentations and deepen their understanding of the communities’ needs, culture and customs.
