Taste of Kakadu makes stunning return to Jabiru in 2021

08 June 2021

The Taste of Kakadu festival enjoyed a stunning return in May, after the festival was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19.
This year’s festival was held over three days and delivered a spectacular showcase of Kakadu culture, Country and cuisine. At the heart of the festival program were events hosted by Bininj/Mungguy who shared their skills and knowledge with visitors who were keen to learn more about Aboriginal culture and connection to Country.
Events included a ground oven cook-up, cooking demonstrations, hands-on activities including weaving, spear making and painting, and ranger-guided tours of Mamukala and Burrungkuy. The festival was incredibly popular with visitors and locals alike, with almost every single event booked out.
The successful return of Taste of Kakadu is a positive step and Kakadu National Park is looking forward to working with the community to commence planning for Taste of Kakadu 2022.
