Upgrades to Jabiru Town Plaza

28 April 2021

Over the past few months, you may have noticed some works within the Town Plaza by West Arnhem Regional Council as part of the Jabiru Beautification Project.
Council are now at the final few stages of the Town Plaza beautification, which will include planting more than 144 additional native trees and shrubs, including bush tucker plants.

While the planting is happening this week, the next stage will involve repairing the aged garden bed edging and clearing and mulching the gardens themselves.
This will compliment the new-look buildings in the Plaza which have also just received a new coat of paint.

Refreshing the town plaza is one of a number of beautification projects identified to support local tourism and enhance the visitor experience as Jabiru transitions to a tourism economy.

Other Jabiru Beautification Projects under way or completed are:

- Jabiru Lake Park upgrades (complete)
including a new children’s playground and shade sails

- Jabiru Pool upgrades and shade structure (commencing 10 May 2021)
Including the new shade sail, children’s splash pad and new barbecue shelters and seating
