WARC staff training program across whole region

15 May 2020

A number of Council staff from across all of West Arnhem Regional Council’s communities, including Jabiru, Gunbalanya, Maningrida, Warruwi and Minjilang came together in March to undertake important training delivered by Charles Darwin University (CDU) in Jabiru.
Some of the training undertaken by staff include operating a 4-wheel drive and performing complex 4x4 operations, operate and maintain chainsaws, apply chemicals under supervision, treat weeds and undertake operational maintenance of machinery.
All of these skills are necessary to complete specific duties which are involved in the day-to-day activities of Council’s core service delivery.
West Arnhem Regional Council Service Manager in Jabiru Jesse Evans congratulated all staff who undertook this training which has greatly assisted them in gaining additional skills and capabilities in the core services area.
“We are all extremely proud of the boys and their commitment and pride that they have in their individual roles," Jesse said.
“They play a huge part in building stronger communities across all of West Arnhem."
Unfortunately, the second week of training had to be postponed, but will take place later on in the year.
