West Arnhem heads to Territory Tidy Towns

West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC) staff will be representing their respective communities with pride at the Northern Territory Tidy Town Awards night this Friday, November 9.
Judging of all five communities including Jabiru, Maningrida, Gunbalanya, Warruwi and Minjilang has taken place over the last few weeks’ with each community celebrating their collective efforts in the lead up to the Tidy Town events.
West Arnhem Regional Council Area Manager John Thomas congratulated all staff involved in the Tidy Towns program this year.
“The WARC staff across all communities have worked extremely hard in 2018 and should be proud of their efforts. We wish everyone good luck and thank our dedicated staff for helping to build sustainable communities in West Arnhem,” John said.
The Territory Tidy Town awards not only recognise the efforts of litter management, but also include the categories of resource recovery, waste management, water conservation, energy conservation, eco-education, and community participation in small, medium and large communities and towns.
