Gunbalanya Local Authority supporting community safety

Gunbalanya’s Local Authority has committed to increasing community safety in the region through a significant investment in public lighting. 
The Local Authority funded the purchase and installation of 45 new LED pathway solar lights situated in various locations in the community with Local Authority members selecting the locations of the remaining lights to be erected.
West Arnhem Regional Council has been working hard to have all remaining lights installed before the wet season. 
Four solar lights last week and Council have ordered three more which will arrive in community very soon. 
The installation of the new solar lights will certainly provide brighter lighting in areas which were previously unlit; increasing public safety and deterring anti-social behaviour.
With the lights operated by solar panel, public lighting expenses will greatly reduce in the community as well.
