On Saturday, August 13 from 3pm to 5pm, an outstanding game of AFL took place at Gunbalanya Oval. Injalak Dockers were the final winners!
They won by an astonishingly close one goal, however we all know that the proud Middle Camp Lions played a fierce game and put up a fight.
Middle Camp Lions and the Injalak Dockers were marvellous crowd pleasers.
It was a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Bryson Nabegeyo was man of the match with his incredible marking and rucking ability all over the field.
We got some inside gossip from one of the Middle Camp players Hamish Robb, “Injalak had all the run. We outscored them in the first quarter but missed too many goal opportunities.”
“They kicked straight and we didn’t. They were too good on the day.”
The supporters were great and cheered on their teams for the entire game.
It was a hot windy day, making for tough conditions, but in the last quarter Middle Camp started to catch up to Injalak putting everybody on the edge of the seats! A late come back!!
Finally the siren screeched and the game finished with Injalak still ahead by a goal!
The crowd buzzed with excitement and joy as everybody shook hands and patted each other on the back with friendly sportsmanship, both teams put up a fight but Injalak must of fought harder this time. Well done INJALAK!
