New mobile gym in Maningrida

Young people in Maningrida have been getting active recently utilising the youth mobile gym! The community mobile gym provides an opportunity for young people to participate in some new physical activities which incorporate cardiovascular and resistance exercise!

It also sports some equipment which is new to the community including medicine balls.

This type exercise has many positive physical and mental health benefits for participants, and it also offers an additional option for a recreational program which is not 'team sport' focused.

The most exciting thing is that the gym can be moved all around the community for activities, including the basketball courts, school, pool and football oval.

West Arnhem Regional Council wishes to thank the Northern Territory Government for funding this initiative.
