Nominations for the 2016 West Arnhem Regional Council Australia Day Awards are now open!

If you know someone who makes a real difference in your community, or you would like to see recognition of a community event, you can nominate in the following categories:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year (under 30)
  • Community Event of the Year

WARC Mayor Lothar Siebert says the Council’s annual awards recognise those in our communities whose contribution has been truly exceptional.

“These individuals are out there in our organisations, either going about their daily job or as volunteers, keeping our activities and events going, working in essential services, or helping those in need – the list goes on," Mayor Siebert said.

“These awards are an opportunity for West Arnhem residents to nominate their fellow community members who they believe are deserving of recognition.”

Nominations close 4.30pm 31 December 2015, with winners announced at a special ceremony at West Arnhem Regional Council #AustraliaDay celebrations in Jabiru on Tuesday 26 January 2016.

Nomination forms are available from all WARC offices, and can be submitted by email to info@westarnhem.nt.gov.au or by post to:

West Arnhem Regional Council
PO Box 721, Jabiru NT 0886

Alternatively you can drop them off at any WARC office.
