Childcare Services
West Arnhem Regional Council operates the Minjilang Crèche, Warruwi Crèche and the Jabiru Childcare Centre which are all staffed by a passionate and dedicated team.
All three centres embrace the importance of children belonging to, becoming part of, and being recognised as valued members of our culturally diverse society.
We believe children have a right to form safe and secure attachments and positive relationships with our educators, which enables them to develop lifelong skills. Our centres put a strong emphasis on diversity, as well as parental and family involvement.
While the crèches are small in size, the intimate surroundings ensures that each child receives the special attention and personal care that they deserve. Healthy, nutritious meals and snacks are served throughout the day at all three centres.
Jabiru Childcare Centre
The Jabiru Childcare Centre is an accredited 60 place long day-care facility catering to children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age. It is staffed by highly qualified and experienced educators who have worked together for a long time so the camaraderie and friendly team spirit is apparent as soon as you walk through the door.
Our program is based on the national Early Years Learning Framework, which focuses on the children’s interests, strengths and individual needs. Our educators work closely with the children to develop a play-based program which is enriching and encourages collaboration with peers, while building on their strengths and emerging skills.
The centre provides quality care for children in three categories:
Birth – 2 years old – Gecko Room
2 years old – 3 years old – Possum Room
3 years – 5 years old – Barramundi Room

Minjilang Crèche provides a range of childcare services to children aged from 0 – 5 years. Crèche operates as a form of introduction to early childhood education and is important for children to learn the foundations before they go to preschool. Minjilang Crèche employs local Aboriginal staff.
The Crèche provides:
Full care 5 days a week for children aged 0-5 years
Operating Hours:
Monday-Friday: 8.00am to 2.00pm

Warruwi Creche
Warruwi Crèche provides a range of childcare services to children aged from 0 – 5 years. Crèche operates as a form of introduction to early childhood education and is important for children to learn the foundations before they go to preschool.
The Crèche provides:
Full care 5 days a week for children aged 0-5 years
Services to pre-school outside of school hours
Operating Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 8.00am to 2.00pm
