Fresh New Court Boosts Basketball in Maningrida

Maningrida’s main basketball court has received a major upgrade with a brand-new surface, thanks to a joint investment by West Arnhem Regional Council and the Njamarléya Cultural Leaders and Justice Group under NIAA’s Stronger Communities for Children grants.
This collaborative effort has delivered a durable, all-weather surface complete with fresh line marking – ready to support local games and community events for years to come. With the upgrades now complete, the Maningrida Basketball Competition is set to return in full swing. 
It also provides the perfect opportunity for players to start training ahead of the 2025 Kurrung Sports Carnival, taking place in Jabiru on 5–6 September.
This is a fantastic result for the community and a big step forward in supporting sport, recreation and healthy futures in Maningrida.
