Basketball team put in all star effort

The Maningrida All Stars women’s basketball team drove to Barunga Festival to compete at the regional basketball tournament recently.

Made possible through funding from Malabam Health board through the Stronger Families for Children program (Dept of Prime Minister and Cabinet), West Arnhem Regional Council Sport and

Recreation team Seide Ramadani, Gerad Watson and Sheena Numungara led the convoy and supported the team.

Though the team was defeated, the girls were played against some strong competition, with the opportunity to bond, compete and experience music, culture and sport has provided lifetime memories.

“In Maningrida we work as one team, like a family. We stick together and support each other - win or lose. We were very proud to witness the strong fighting spirit of the all stars team who did West Arnhem proud!” said Sport and Recreation Coordinator Seide.
