The Inaugural JUICE Jabiru Bake Off took place on Saturday 21 November with a fabulous response. The competition had 13 entries in the Junior section and 13 entries in the Open section, and all entries were outstanding.

Thank you to our amazing judges: Kakadu Crocodile Hotel’s Nathan Harden, Kakadu Ward Councillor Anna Egerton, and the best cake baker around, Chandra Morgan. It was a tough day to be a judge!

Winners and runners-up received hampers of baking accessories, with both winners taking home a $40 Inspiration at Home voucher from local consultant Katrina Bangay (www.katrinabangay. yourinspirationathome.com.au)

The cakes were sold either whole or by the slice to raise an additional $800 for a new piece of play equipment for Lake Jabiru Park.

Thank you to all the community members who came down and supported the event in sweltering conditions as well as the JUICE girls for their rock star efforts: Rachel Price, Bronwyn van Ras, Leona Katzer and Costi Buccella.
