Can Jabiru cull the Crocs?

THE Jabiru Bombers play their final home game for the season on Saturday 13 February, and it’s shaping up as a humdinger.

The home side, who are sitting at number 5 on the TIO NTFL Senior Men's Division 2 ladder, take on Southern Districts Crocs, who are at number 4.

After Round 16, both teams were on 40 points.

The Bombers took the big stick to Mindil Sharks in their most recent home game at Brockman Oval on Saturday 16 January with an emphatic 25.22-172 to 4.4-28 victory.

In the following round on Saturday 23 January, Bombers came up against arch-rivals Banks in a tight contest at TIO Stadium in Darwin.

Banks were better on the day, with their final scoreline showing 12.8-80 to Bombers 10.4-64.

Bombers ruckman Anthony Reid copped a nasty elbow to the back of the head during the match, which meant a visit to Royal Darwin Hospital and a head injury that doctors say should rule him out for the next three matches.

The Bombers had no game on Saturday 6 February after a University forfeit.

The Sponsors’ Day home game against Crocs gets underway from 2pm Saturday 13 February at Brockman Oval, Jabiru, with refreshments available from the clubhouse.
