Creche workplace exchange opportunity

21 August 2020

Educators from West Arnhem Regional Council’s Crèches had an opportunity to visit and experience another workplace and community recently.
In June, the educators from Minjilang and Warruwi Crèches came over to Jabiru Childcare Centre to see and experience a different centre and learn new ideas and ways to carry out day-to-day operations.
This is the first time the educators from all three centres and crèches with West Arnhem Regional Council had the opportunity to meet, share and learn new ideas.
They observed the Jabiru staff in practice and also had the opportunity to build a connection with the children as well as share their knowledge
and build confidence as educators.
Encouraging staff morale, WARC educators from Jabiru, Minjilang and Warruwi also enjoyed a beautiful dinner under the stars.
This provided a chance to get to know everyone in a relaxing environment to help prosper and build rapport.
The educators from Minjilang and Warruwi were involved in an all-day learning workshop conducted by Anthony Semann and Phil Butler in the Jabiru conference room.
The outcome of the workshop was that the educators learnt about how to embed culture into everyday
practice, team work and planning for children’s learning.
