Help West Arnhem be a top Territory recycler

08 April 2016

ROP_Mobile muster WARC Relief Administration Officer Kia Hodgson reckons we can beat the Town of Alice Springs to be the Mobile Muster Top Local Government Recycler in the NT.

WEST Arnhem Regional Council is calling on Jabiru residents, businesses and organisations to join MobileMuster Month by clearing out any old, dead or junk mobile phones and mobile phone parts this April.

You can help West Arnhem win the Top Local Government Recycler in the NT while at the same time keeping toxic waste out of our landfill.

WARC is currently neck-and-neck with Alice Springs Town Council in the MobileMuster Recycling Awards.

Our region has a considerable reputation to defend, having won the NT Tidy Town’s Resource Recovery Awards for the past nine years running, thanks to the efforts of Council Service Manager Ian Lindsay and the council works crew.

MobileMuster, Australia’s only government accredited, not-for-profit mobile phone recycling program, has been working with local councils for more than 10 years to encourage communities to recycle.

As a not-for-profit program, any revenue generated from recycling materials is invested back into the Australian community through our schools program (MusterKids), local council community environmental and social activities and contributions to the Salvos Stores.

The MobileMuster Recycling Awards are based on who has collected the most mobile phone components for recycling between 1 May 2015 and 30 April 2016.

So what are you waiting for? Have you got an old mobile you need to chuck out?

You can drop off your old mobile phones and components during business hours in the MobileMuster box in the WARC office in Jabiru Town Plaza.

We will be rolling out collection points in other communities soon!
