Jabiru school students were inspired by local businesses and organisations at the annual Career’s Expo held on Friday, September 16.
Organisations including Kakadu National Park, ERA, West Arnhem Regional Council, Westpac Bank and emergency services, among others, participated in the expo which was organised by students.
Jabiru Area School Assistant Principal Matt Woodwood said the Career's Expo is an annual feature of the school’s pathways program.
“Over time this has been organised by students who make contact with all relevant organisations to explain the focus of the expo and invite them to participate,” he said.
“This year Year 12 students organised this and did an outstanding job.”
Students from Year 5-12 who participated in the expo asked a series of questions to those representing the local industries, who supplied information on the types of jobs within their organisation, the qualifications required to be a successful applicant and the roles and responsibilities that a successful applicant would need to perform.
Matt wished to thank all those involved in the event.
“A sincere thanks to the students, community members and organisations which were able to participate.”
