WOMEN in Jabiru celebrated International Woman’s Day 2015 in style this year with a “Sparkling Cruise” on Yellow Water Billabong proudly hosted by JUiCE and Cooinda Lodge Kakadu. It was a fabulous event enjoyed by many, and an activity we think Cooinda Lodge Kakadu should make a regular occurrence.

To celebrate this year’s theme ‘Make It Happen’, 35 people travelled from Jabiru to Cooinda Lodge Kakadu in buses kindly supplied by Spotless to enjoy the two-hour cruise. Guests were served sparkling wine on arrival, followed by cruising, a canapé luncheon, and an informative talk by Felicity Hatton of Cooinda Lodge Kakadu.

We then found a quiet location to finish lunch, enjoy a cocktail, and hear some inspirational talks from ERA Manager Health Safety Environment Communities and Water Stephanie Miller, and Jabiru Area School Principal Learne Dunne on how they had ‘Made it Happen’.

Moved by what she had heard and by the day in general Cooinda Lodge Kakadu General Manager Vanessa Thomson also gave an impromptu, but equally moving, speech.

With some prizes and perhaps a little more sparkling we made our way back to Cooinda Lodge where we were transported back to Jabiru.

JUiCE would like to sincerely thank Vanessa Thomson and Cooinda Lodge Kakadu, Spotless Jabiru and our two fabulous bus drivers as well as everyone who joined us in support of this great day.
