Jabiru youth enjoy the great outdoors

17 January 2019

Youth in Jabiru enjoyed a trip out to South Alligator as part of the school holiday program on Wednesday, January 9.
To start the day, the excited group took a hike down past the billabong along the Gungarre walk to view the developing wetlands.
Playing ‘eye spy’ helped the young people learn about their surrounding flora and fauna in Kakadu National Park, including some ‘unhappy spiky trees’.
Following the bushwalk, it was a perfect time for a dip before a barbecue and a little ‘kick to kick’.
After lunch, it was time to relax by the pool listening to music and challenging each other in a game of volleyball.
Jabiru Sport and Recreation would like to thank all the kids and volunteers that helped make for a great day.
