Live Vibes workshops in Gunbalanya

12 December 2016

Live Vibes Music will be running workshops in Gunbalanya.

Live Vibe Music (LVM) is back in Gunbalanya this month to facilitate another innovative community music project during the school holidays.
Specialising in songwriting, recording, film workshops, photography and video clips, the program will be led by mentors LVM directors Kaeleen Hunter and Angelika Heinrich who will teach the young participants new skills in media, film, music, dance, songwriting, recording and producing.
The Live Vibe Music program will see participants building and creating their own songs, selecting a genre and instruments with their music also delivering strong messages from the community.
Live Vibe Music Workshops will start on December 19 and will operate through activities held at Gunbalanya’s Youth Centre and scenic parts of the community.
West Arnhem Regional Council Youth Development Coordinator Jessica Green said the Live Vibe Music offers safe and fun project outcomes which engage youth groups.
“They are a great way to develop musical skills while empowering them as directors of their own music and video clips which carry strong messages,” Jessica said.
Mentors Kaeleen and Angelika bring an open heart and mind along with a strong skill set of knowledge to facilitate the Live Vibe Music program. They bring along all the tech gadgets required to fulfil the outcomes of each project they are invited to participate in.
Kaeleen is a live sound engineer with a background in computing with experience in recording music CDs while Angelika will be the facilitator of adding film clips to the songs.
Promoting school attendance and encouraging students to return and value schooling is a key priority with the music videos made through the programs in Gunbalanya.
