Maningrida basketball competition grand final

The Maningrida Basketball Competition was successfully run by the West Arnhem Regional Council Youth Sport and Recreation team with 11 women’s and 11 men’s teams registered. The competition ran every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night from September to December. Each week we saw fierce competition, lots of talent on the court and spectators came from everywhere around community to cheer on their team and family. The main event, the grand final was played on 13 December, with the women’s game first Rebels Vs Mango and the men’s game followed Mango vs Jaguars. Congratulations to the Mango women’s team and the Jaguars men’s team for taking out the competition. The grand final event was full of action with live local bands playing, No More Campaign and a free BBQ creating a great atmosphere. Thank you to the volunteers and stakeholders who supported the competition; WARC, Basketball NT, NTG, B.A.C, Night Patrol, RSAS, Nja-marleya, MPA and NO MORE.
