Maningrida youth perform for Aged Care

01 March 2019

Maningrida was lucky enough to have Corrugated Iron in town delivering circus and film workshops directed by Hemlock, Nathaniel and Stephanie from February 18 – 27.
Corrugated Iron have spent afternoons down at the Maningrida Aged Care teaching the kids new skills including balancing, juggling and summersaults.
The Aged Care clients have really enjoyed having the kids at the centre and being able to watch their skills develop over the 10 days.
The kids even put on a performance for them on the last afternoon Corrugated Iron were in town, while the elderly enjoyed afternoon tea.
Nathaniel and Stephanie from Corrugated Iron also worked over the 10 days with the kids to create a short film. As a result, there was plenty of great acting skills on show and the kids enjoyed putting on their costumes and getting into character.
They are also very excited to show their families the final edited version.
The Corrugated Iron crew also delivered some workshops at Maningrida College with the senior and middle school girls and boys.
This was a great opportunity to get the teenagers engaged and involved and there was some amazing talents immersed in acrobatics and circus.
Maningrida Youth, Sport and Recreation would like to thank Corrugated Iron for all their hard work.
They delivered activities every day with enthusiasm and excitement and they will be sorely missed until their return.
