New Australian citizens

Sandra Jestin, Jestin Palakal, Ronil and little Rayan Sharma and Michael Oliver made the pledge to become Australian citizens on Friday, November 4. West Arnhem welcomed five new Australian citizens who made their pledge at an official ceremony held in Jabiru on Friday, November 4. West Arnhem Regional Council Mayor Lothar Siebert officiated the ceremony which saw Jabiru residents Michael Oliver from New Zealand, Ronil Sharma from Fiji and little Rayan Sharma from New Zealand and Maningrida residents Jestin Palakal and his daughter Sandra from India, make the important pledge in front of family and friends. Mayor Siebert also received a special plaque on behalf of West Arnhem Regional Council which has been recognised for dedication and commitment to Australian Citizenship by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection recently. The next citizenship ceremony will be held in 2017.
