New chill space at Warruwi Recreation Hall

24 October 2019

Warruwi Recreation Hall's new Chill Space was officially opened on September 22 with more than 52 people, including youth and community members, in attendance.
The opening was a wonderful occasion to celebrate the new chill space which is a safe area where youth can engage in educational learning devices and also relax in a comfortable environment with books.
Many were eager to see the new features of the recreation hall which now includes educational books, board games, table tennis, an air hockey table, Lego, and other electronic devices like a Play Station 4 to play in down time.
To celebrate the official opening of the chill space, the youth took the lead in preparing the food with assistance of WARC staff members as part of the home economic program which has been taking place regularly at the recreation hall.
The youth prepared kangaroo tail and a few cakes and drinks received from Ajurumu Store as well as a few extra items.
The WARC Youth, Sport and Recreation team said they are very appreciative of the overwhelming support by other stakeholders within the community, including the school. They would also like to thank the works crew for their support of the upgrades.

This project was supported by Outside School Hours Care (OSHC).
