Rate Relief for Businesses - Special Community Assistance Program

Through a partnership between West Arnhem Regional Council and the Northern Territory Government, our Council is offering support to local businesses impacted by restrictions as a response to COVID-19.
The Local Government Special Community Assistance and Local Employment (SCALE) Program supports councils to offer rates waivers and deferrals for commercial ratepayers facing hardship.
The program is targeted at local businesses to support business continuity and job retention, as they rebound from the impacts of COVID-19.
If you believe your business is eligible to apply for this rate relief, you are encouraged to apply.

Applying to Council for the rate relief is simple:
1) Register via the NT Government's Business Hardship Register.

2) Email Council’s Finance Manager at records@westarnhem.nt.gov.au and provide the Certificate of eligibility and details of your request.
3) Council will process the request and provide the applicant with confirmation of the rates’ waiver/deferment.
