Recreational activities in Warruwi extended with new sandpit

A new sandpit area has been constructed at the front of the Warruwi Recreation Hall.
The idea itself and the project was made possible through the West Arnhem Regional Council’s (WARC) Youth, Sport and Recreation team and the works crew in the community, which is a great example of continual cooperation between the WARC teams.
The sand was transported and delivered to the front of the building and was smoothed out over the hard surface.  
The sandpit has been a hit with the young children in the community, and was being used regularly for various activities. There are also flood lights in the vicinity so the area is lit up after dark.
The Youth, Sport and Recreation team also facilitated basketball with the youth in the community earlier in the month.
