Reinvigorating softball in Maningrida

Softball NT visited Maningrida in late May to run some exciting softball programs with West Arnhem Regional Council Youth, Sport and Recreation, Maningrida School and Maningrida Child Centre. 
Softball is not a sport which is played often in Maningrida, however the young people enjoyed learning how to hit, catch and pitch. 
They also loved playing full games against each other and there was a display of big hitters and some great catches throughout the 10 days!
The young mothers at the Maningrida Child Centre also enjoyed getting involved with the little ones. 
Some of the mums in Maningrida also have fond memories of playing softball as there was once an established team in Maningrida. 
There is hopes to build up momentum again with this sport.
Thank you to facilitators Chloe and Graham that showed continuous passion and enthusiasm and worked with the kids in a really fun and structured way.
