Spirited Halloween humbug in Maningrida

06 November 2020

The annual Halloween Humbug in Maningrida was once again a successful event in the community.
Commencing at the Maningrida Pool, helpful organisers including Maddy from Malala, and with a little help from some of the older girls, applied some professional and spooky face paint on the humbug participants.
Everyone then decided on their costumes and the full effects looked great - there was a Na-vi (from Avatar) an awesome day of the dead face, vampires, butterflies, dragons, ghosts and ghouls.
There was a huge turnout at the Halloween humbug overall with more than 50 people, including parents and guardians, and everyone really got into the spirit of the celebration.
The group then commenced humbugging as they strolled the streets of Maningrida going from house to house collecting fruit and lollies.
While the humbuggers didn’t get the chance to visit all streets in Maningrida, everyone who participated had a great time.
Everyone then returned to the pool to divide up the bounty and over 30 kids went home with a big smile and a mixed bag of treats.
