TeamHealth and WARC collaborate to engage young people through music

13 October 2022

Over recent weeks, West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC) Youth, Sport and Recreation team member Junior in Gunbalanya has been collaborating with TeamHealth.
Leslie and Singita have been at the youth centre doing activities with the young ones including chilling out, cooking food, playing sports, music and boxing.
They also had a great time joining in the dance game!
They have also been running a community engagement activity called BEATS and music, which helps the kids engage in music and hand therapy, and not to forget to have fun and dance. TeamHealth are aiming to do this type of activity every month or three months depending on the weather this season.
There have been great outcomes shown from TeamHealth working with Junior from WARC, who has been very engaging and active with working along youth division and mums and bubs, specially being a young aboriginal male in the community and having that cultural barrier.
Everyone is looking forward to continuing to work together with youth centre for better community engagement.
TeamHealth supports people’s mental health journey. By achieving this, they engage in all appropriate manners such as connecting to country, working together with other organisations, holistic care for participants, community engagement and awareness of each individual mental health issues.
