Thanks given to Jabiru Citizen of the Year

14 February 2019

Jabiru resident Leith Waterbury was presented the ‘Citizen of the Year’ award by West Arnhem Regional Council Deputy Mayor Anna Egerton  recently. This special award, which was presented in front of members of the Jabiru Fire Station,  recognises his outstanding contributions within the community.
Leith is a dedicated community member, volunteer firefighter and committed leader of the Clontarf Academy. A passionate volunteer and role model to many, he is always available to lend a hand and, over the years, has given countless hours of his own time.
He has been involved in the running of numerous sporting events, including activities for kids, futsul and touch football competitions and many more. When not involved in running regular sporting programs, Leith is always on hand at almost every community event to assist.
He also commits time to other major events in the community including the Children’s Christmas Party and the Jabiru Fire Station Lolly Run.
Over the years, Leith has also been a volunteer firefighter, dedicating time to the station every week, and in addition, helps to run personal training, boot camp classes and more.
Thank you Leith.
