TODAY show stops into Jabiru

Jabiru and Kakadu was the backdrop of the TODAY Show recently as part of the promotion of the upcoming movie ‘Top End Wedding’ which will see one lucky couple destined to win their dream wedding at one of the Northern Territory’s dream locations.
Filming took place at the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel and the Jabiru Lake with the TODAY show weather host Steve Jacobs featuring a range of Top End wedding specialists during live crosses from the Darwin Waterfront.
The live crosses included Tenny Russo cake artist from The Chantilly Kitchen, wedding dress designer Sarina Cowcher of The Big Day Bridal, George Fragopoulos of George F Photography, boutique florist Maria Okwa of Beija Flor and Marc Gallagher from Darwin’s Horse and Carriage.
NT-based Top End Wedding actor Rob Collins was also a guest on the show.
While filming in Jabiru, the TODAY show episode also showcased some of the surrounding romantic destinations including Yellow Water Billabong and Kakadu National Park.
Tourism NT General Manager Marketing Tony Quarmby said, “To leverage the film and further promote the Territory, Tourism NT and Channel Nine are working in partnership to deliver the Win a Top End Wedding Competition where the Top End’s wedding suppliers, stunning landscapes and diverse tourism offerings are being featured as wedding and honeymoon destinations with a difference.”
“The lucky Win a Top End Wedding couple will tie the knot in the NT on 6 May, just following the release of the film Top End Wedding on 2 May.”
