Upskilling staff in Essential Services

10 July 2020

West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC)’s Albert Gawaraidji in Warruwi has been successful in gaining certification as an Essential Services Officer (ESO).
Through Abert's commitment to become a competent ESO, he has continued to learn from fellow ESO Mark Gavenlock on all the day-to-day operations to a point where he was ready to undertake a competency assessment with WARC’s Senior ESO.
WARC Project Coordinator Fatima Tjung said the competency assessment is quite a robust assessment tool which Power and Water Corporation also use, to ensure essential services are delivered in communities and are compliant with contractual obligations.
WARC Senior ESO Jake Marshall said Albert passed his assessment with flying colours and is amazed the passion that Albert possesses in this area of expertise. Albert will now be able to provide relief and respite not only in Warruwi but also as well as other communities in the West Arnhem region.
WARC wishes to congratulate Albert for electing to be an expert in this field and for excelling that has been difficult to recruit.
