Gunbalanya community prepares to head to Barunga Festival

There is lots happening within the West Arnhem Regional Council’s youth, sport and recreation program in Gunbalanya.
Everyone is training hard for the Barunga festival coming up in mind-June, with around 70 people from the community heading to the event to take part.
The community is buzzing with exciting and it is great to see everyone training hard.
This includes a men’s AFL team, one women’s basketball team, a men’s basketball team and the band!
If you are heading to Barunga as part of this group, be sure to go to the clinic and get your health check if you’re in one of those teams (this is compulsory).
This has been a collaborative planning effort, with lots of stakeholders getting involved to help support Gunbalanya.
The Youth, Sport and Recreation staff have also been busy, taking the youth fishing and taking a feed with them on country.
